Dr. Weil - the Foundation's largest donor

About 90% of the donations to the Foundation come from Dr. Weil, who contributes all of his after-tax profits from royalties on the sale of retail products licensed by Weil Lifestyle, LLC. The company partners with businesses that share Dr. Weil's philosophy and standards, and he works closely with each licensee to develop distinctive products that meet his specifications and conform to the principles of integrative medicine. Products include: Weil Nutritional Supplements, Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins^TM, Pet Promise, Dr. Andrew Weil for Tea, Lucini Italia Organics, Weil by Nature's Path^TM, Weil for Vital Choice, Weil Baby^TM, Weil for Vita Foods and Orthaheel^TM.

Andrew Weil, M.D., created Weil Lifestyle, LLC and the Weil Foundation as a mechanism to provide funding for training, research, and other work in integrative medicine. Because all of Dr. Weil's after-tax profits from the sale of licensed products go to the Foundation, consumers buying these products are, in effect, partners with Dr. Weil in funding the Weil Foundation.

Each year a number of donors make contributions through this website or by contacting the Foundation directly (info@weilfoundation.org). Dr. Weil appreciates every gift, large or small, for the material support it gives to integrative medicine and for the encouragement it provides.

Everyone who buys a Weil-endorsed product helps to finance the charity that is leading this revolution in medical education.

I donate all of my after-tax profits from such sales to the Weil Foundation. The Foundation makes grants to medical centers and teaching hospitals who are the pioneers in the education of doctors in integrative medicine.

In the years 2006-2008, the Foundation gave away $1,821,000 for this cause. Contributions come from my own after-tax profits -- which I receive from consumers -- and from other individual donors.

In integrative medicine, we believe that patients and practitioners are partners in the healing process. I am delighted that through the Weil Foundation, patients as consumers are partners with me in financing a transformation in medical education that can help to heal American health care.
